Missing in Action

As some folks who follow me on twitter may know I found out on Thursday that I've torn the rotator cuff in my left shoulder. Basically it's that bad that I can't move my left arm independently now and won't be able to until I get into physio which I don't start till Wednesday next week.

Apart from the hideous pain - and get this, I haven't been able to even get in my bed since last Monday night, catnapping upright on the sofa is not ftw - it means that my ability to type is rather impeded at the mo. So, if I'm not commenting or reviewing much it's purely because I can only bear to use my laptop for about 5 mins at a time as a one handed wonder between trying to sleep and taking copious amounts of pills.

Normal service will be resumed as soon as they fix my arm up, my ISP must think I've died or emigrated at the mo!

OMG, hun! I'm so sorry! I've been there, and though I didn't tear my cuff, I've had shoulder problems over the years from my arm popping in and out. I've broken, sprained, and fractured that arm as what seems like a ridiculous amount of times. I hope ya feel better soon! Living on the schedule of pills sucks big time, let alone not even being able to lay in your own bed. Thinking of you!

I almost tore my rotator cuff many years ago. It would have been better if I had actually torn it so they could do the surgery to fix it than all the crap I have dealt with since. I have found that when it starts to bother me again, I hook my thumb in the front belt loop of my jeans and press my elbow towards my body. Helps take some of the pressure off the shoulder. Eat your vicoden like a good girl. JoMo says that coconut gellato (sp) at 5am does wonders on neck pain, so maybe chocolate ice cream will work on shoulders? Can't hurt to try. Wish I was there to help. At least you don't have a two or three year old that can't understand why Mommy can't 'Up!"
