Need help with gifs please!!

I, like a lot of graphic noobs, use gifsoup to make gifs from YT videos. However, I haven't been able to get that site to work properly in well over a week. Does anyone have any alternatives to it that I could try? I've made one in gimp but its slow and sucktastic so if anyone has any recommendations I'd very much appreciate them :)
