Happy Birthday John!!

I know it's not fashionable or trendy to be a fan of this guy. I know that he's almost universally derided by everyone over the age of 13. I know that fandom isn't much kinder to him than the straight up wrestling fans are, but I don't care. He has an infectious smile, more energy in a day than I'll have in a lifetime and a dedication to what he does that I can't fathom when it takes him away from home and his family for so much of the year. He just wants to make people smile and have a good time from the sickest of children to the most cynical guys in the audience.

Yeah, his gimmick is old hat, his jokes aren't always funny, his merch is eyebleeding - the list could go on. Despite all that I'm completely under his spell. I love this guy to pieces and suspect I always will. Have a great one, JC xx

well said hun!!! and yeah i know its not fashionable to like John but here's the thing - I do!! his dedication to his fans (even the ones who go out of their way to hate him) amazes me and the time and energy he spends working for charities is humbling. So I agree with you Happy Birthday John - and thank you.

He's just comes across as being such a nice guy and I really do love that about him. Nobody asked him to do all the things for charity that he does and it's not like he's doing it to further his career - the fans hate on him anyway!

I would love to meet him properly to tell him that I respect the hell out of everything he does for charity. So many really poorly kids are cheered up just by his megawatt grin walking into the room. No amount of money can pay for that. *sigh* He's just such a sweetheart <3

he really does seem a very genuine guy and thats rare in a celebrity these days. And you're right he does so much that does nothing to "further" his career but he does it anyway and gives up so much of his own time - that has to be admired even if you can't stand him in the ring.

Oh god me too!! I would love to let him know how much I really respect him for everything he does, the way he takes the boos and mindless hate on the chin and keeps going, not to mention the way he can make a kids year simply by walking in the room. He deserved to be honoured for that. Although if I was that close to tell him that, I'd probably faint ;)

I know what you mean about his evolution though - going back as far as the Prototype days is just lolzy now XD To see how he's changed over the years is astonishing, it's real 'boy becoming a man' stuff.

I'm just glad he has the commitment to stick with being who he is. Smart money says that voices like mine and yours make it out of the crowd, over the booing and keep him going. I'm gonna deafen him in November :D

From his twitter it looks like he did and I'm glad about that, even if he was working his ass off as per usual.

Like you I'm not interested in just liking whoever the IWC or the rabid fangirls have as their flavour of the day. John will do just fine for me :)

Yep I agree I hate the rabids who have flavor of the day. I like John since way back when he use to do 5 questions with champ. I just loved those.
